Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
The goal of Awana is to give boys and girls the chance to know, love and serve God. While it’s a serious mission, we believe having fun in the process is a great tool for reaching young people. Awana is a proven way to impact our communities and train children for leadership.
Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.
As a ministry leader for over 60 years, Awana is making an impact. A national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni’s spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined. Among alumni who participated in our programs for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!
Each week, more than two million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. This includes more than 1.1 million in 102 countries outside of the U.S.
Calvary Chapel in Coral Springs is blessed and honored to be able to offer this program to the community. We currently offer 2 Awana clubs, Sparks® for children K-2 and Truth and Training for elementary school students grades 3-5.
Sparks® ignites the curiosity of early elementary-age kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ.
To many children in kindergarten to second grade, Sparks is the highlight of the week! They love the exciting games and spending time with leaders and friends.
Sparks is divided into three years, each with a unique rank: HangGlider®,WingRunner® and SkyStormer™.
Each year, Sparks clubbers:
• explore the biographies of people of the Bible from a new portion of Scripture
• memorize Bible verses
• complete handbook activities
The handbooks, combined with Large Group Time lessons from the
WHO Do I Need to Know From the Bible series, take your child on a journey
through the entire Bible!
Truth and Training
T&T engages third- through sixth-graders by answering their questions about God and the Bible, guiding them through this pivotal life stage to grow in Christ’s grace.
Handbooks and large-group lessons deepen a child’s knowledge about God and His Word and teach how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life.
T&T is different from other Awana programs.
It is comprised of two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms and awards:
•T&T Ultimate Adventure™ for third and fourth grades
•T&T Ultimate Challenge™ for fifth and sixth grades
The clubs are designed to help kids stay plugged into T&T as they move into the preteen years and continue growing in their relationship with Christ.
